Private Piano Lessons for Students Ages 5-18 in the East Bay Area

A Letter From Your Instructor

Dear Current and Prospective families,

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Harukopianoclass! Whether you are already a part of the piano family, or are in search for an instructor, I am so grateful that you are here.

My goal as a piano instructor is to help students fall in love with playing the piano while discovering who they are as performers —thoughtful, mindful, and reflective musicians. Each lesson is carefully designed to meet students at their individual level while also challenging them to grow. Learning to play the piano is not easy; it requires dedication, consistent practice habits, and the ability to face difficult tasks weekly. Students will master technique, theory, and approach their repertoire with an emphasis on attention to detail and exposure to the different styles of the classical era.

I bring over 10 years of experience working with students from ages 3 and up, along with a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from Sonoma State University. Although I’ve been a dedicated pianist since the age of 8, my time at the Pädagogische Hochschule in Ludwigsburg, Germany deepened my passion for teaching and fostering student development. I am humbled to be your instructor and deeply grateful for your trust in me. Let’s get to work!

Joyfully,
Haruko
